Parker just got home from 6 days of Stake Boy Scout Camp.

The camp was held near Alpine, Arizona, at an elevation of 8000 feet. He completed five merit badges: canoing, climbing, rifle, leatherwork, and orienteering. His favorite merit badge was climbing because "it was fun". His least favorite merit badge was canoing beause they had to capsize the canoe and "the water was cold!".

It got down to 39 degrees one night and it was very windy. Some of the leaders even saw a bear not too far from camp one night. Parker's most memorable thing from camp was "when Andre (his friend) was swinging on the swing and he jumped off and it hit him in the head and he had to get stitches from Bro. Martineau (Stake YM President and local dentist)". John was at camp Monday through Wednesday and had a great time being with Parker and our other young men and leaders.

It was strange, although quiet (Parker is a continuous bundle of energy!), having Parker gone all week and we're glad to have him home! :0)
