Two Down, Two to Go

It seems like we measure things in ratios around here. When Zach got his Eagle Scout award it was "one down, one to go". When Kam got her Young Womenhood Recognition Award it was "one down, one to go". When Zach graduated from high school it was "one down, three to go". When he went through the Temple last summer it was "one down, three to go". When Kam got her braces off in November it was "two down, two to go". When Parker got his braces on in January it was "three down, one to go". And after Kam got her wisdom teeth out yesterday it was "two down, two to go". That's one ratio I'm very glad is getting better! She did very well with the whole thing even though she was very nervous, and since Parker's at Scout Camp and Kailen was spending the day at a friend's house, we had a nice day just hibernating on the couch. I got to spoon feed her yogurt, smoothies, chocolate pudding and chicken broth because until late last night, she couldn't feel her lips. She tried to feed herself once and that didn't turn out so well, so I was more than happy to help her out. As the kids get older and more independent, it's kinda' nice to be able to return - for a brief time - to those times years ago when they needed their mom to do things for them, like feed them. Since she would probably not be very happy if I posted a post-wisdom-teeth-removal-picture, you'll just have to take my word for it that she looks really good this morning. A bit swollen, but really good.
