Homecoming Night Havoc

Friday night was Valley Vista's Homecoming game. John, Kailen and I were on our way to the high school to watch the game when we got a distress call from Kam that the van had died. Luckily, she was in a subdivision and was able to pull to the side of the road. We turned around and headed over to help her. And it was definitely dead. It tried to start up, but there seemed to be a fuel problem and the strong smell of gas. We called a tow truck, were told they'd be there in 30 minutes, and 1 hour and 15 minutes later, they came. We had it towed to our wonderful Goodyear dealer, who has become very familiar with this van over the years. In fact, we had the van in so often during one period of time that I would call to schedule another appointment and they would know my voice and say "Hi, Mrs. Kelley. What can we do for you this time?" Not good when your mechanic knows your voice!

We got to the game in time for the fourth quarter and to see Valley Vista win! Hooray! And the van was repaired yesterday with new fuel hoses and a bonus 10% discount from our wonderful mechanic. Blessings from this experience: Kam wasn't on a busy road when the van died. We got to sit in our car for 1 hour and 15 minutes with Kam, Kailen and Kam's friend - Callie - who is totally hilarious, and spend quality time! The repair costs were much less than they could've been. We got an extra 10% discount. Pretty cool!
